President Maia Sandu discussed with Jānis Mažeiks, EU Ambassador to Moldova

President Maia Sandu discussed today with EU Ambassador to Moldova, Jānis Mažeiks, about the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova and the next steps on the way to EU accession. Among them - the action plan for fulfilling the conditions mentioned in the European Commission's opinion for granting Moldova the candidate country status, which was drafted by the Government and is now being consulted with civil society, representatives of the executive and other stakeholders.

According to the head of state, ensuring Moldova's energy security is a priority and our country is counting on European Union’s support in this context. Maia Sandu also expressed her gratitude for the EU's recent decision to increase budgetary aid to our country to €75 million. This aid will help us manage the energy crisis more easily.
