The current situation in the region and the challenges our country faces were discussed today by the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu in a telephone conversation with the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Olaf Scholz.
Chancellor Scholz expressed his appreciation for our country's effort to provide protection and assistance to refugees from Ukraine. President Maia Sandu thanked Germany for the financial and humanitarian aid offered to manage the large influx of refugees and for its openness to relocate to Germany a part of those fleeing the war. She also mentioned the need for further support to alleviate the economic consequences of the war in Moldova. It is a matter of priority to open up EU markets for Moldovan products.
