President Maia Sandu discussed the prospects of European integration with ministers and secretaries of state from 8 European countries

Moldovan President Maia Sandu met with a group of ministers and state secretaries from Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Romania and Sweden.

The interlocutors discussed Moldova's European course and the progress made by our country in the last year. President Sandu reiterated that our country's place is in the European Union. The ministers noted the results achieved by the Republic of Moldova in the field of political representation of women, as well as the efforts made by our authorities to promote equality and combat gender violence.

Ministers and State Secretaries are in Chisinau today for a visit to mark International Women's Day on 8 March to support Moldova's European course and highlight women's contributions to modernisation and European integration processes.

In the afternoon, at the Artcor Centre, the Head of State will join the ministers in a public discussion on Moldova's European path. The event will be attended by Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu, MPs, diplomats, journalists and representatives of NGOs and international organisations.
