President Maia Sandu undertakes a working visit to the United Kingdom and Ireland

The head of state will be on a working visit to the United Kingdom on July 17-18, followed by a visit to Ireland on July 19.

President Maia Sandu will participate in the European Political Community Summit, hosted by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The European Political Community represents a key platform for European countries to discuss peace and security on the continent, as well as other common issues. Moldova hosted the second summit of the European Political Community on June 1, 2023.

During the event, the head of state will hold meetings with several European presidents and prime ministers to discuss the peace and security in our country, economic development, and European integration.

The summit agenda includes working groups on topics such as defense of democracy, migration, energy, and connectivity. President Maia Sandu will co-chair a working group alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, with the participation of leaders from several countries and international organizations, exchanging views on the topic of defending democracy.

In addition to meetings in the United Kingdom, Madame President will travel to Dublin, where will meet with the President of Ireland, Michael Daniel Higgins, and Irish Prime Minister, Simon Harris.

Both in London and Dublin, the President will meet with Moldovan communities established in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
