President Maia Sandu welcomes the decision of the Japanese Government to provide us with budgetary support in the amount of 100 million US dollars.

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, announced that she discussed with the Ambassador of Japan in Chisinau, Yamada Yoichiro.

"At the end of last week, the ambassador of Japan in Chisinau, Yamada Yoichiro, communicated to me the decision of the Japanese Government to provide our country with budgetary support in the amount of 100 million US dollars, which was announced by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida during the G7 summit. This support will increase the state's financial resources at a time when our economy, including budget receipts, is affected by the war in Ukraine," said President Maia Sandu.

At the same time, the head of state emphasized that Japan is one of the most important development partners of the Republic of Moldova which, over time, has contributed to equipping our hospitals with high-performance medical equipment, helped Moldovan farmers to procure modern agricultural techniques and to apply new technologies, financed programs to support small and medium-sized enterprises and supported cultural and educational projects.

"I thanked Mr. Ambassador for the excellent bilateral cooperation as well as for the continuous assistance and I expressed my hope that we will succeed in increasing the volume of Japanese investments in the Republic of Moldova, and through this, we will increase the number of well-paid jobs at home", underlined President Maia Sandu.
