Igor Dodon held a meeting with the US Ambassador

President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Moldova, James D. Pettit.

During the conversation, the President and the US diplomat touched upon issues concerning the domestic and foreign policy of the country, the state of bilateral Moldovan-American relations, and also considered possible scenarios for organizing and holding local and parliamentary elections planned for this year.

There where also discussed the details of the trip to the United States, scheduled for July 1-8, at the invitation of the President of the World Congress of Families, Brian Brown.

Within the framework of the visit, the President intends to hold a series of meetings with the representatives of the Government, members of the Congress and the leadership of the United States, representatives of the media and expert community.

As stated earlier, the Republic of Moldova should have a permanent dialogue, both with the East and with the West, to develop friendly, bilateral and multilateral relations, in the interests of our country," said Igor Dodon
