Moldovan president signs decrees appointing four magistrates

President Nicolae Timofti signed decrees appointing four magistrates on 30 April.

Thus, the following magistrates are:

Aliona Miron – judge at Riscani law court, Chisinau.

Lilia Trocin – judge at Falesti-based court.

Elvira Popa – head of Soldanesti-based court.

Dorin Munteanu – judge at Basarabeasca-based court.

Previously, Timofti held discussions with the above-mentioned magistrates. He underlined he had committed to contribute to successfully implementing reform in the judicial system. He said he would not tolerate deviations of the magistrates from the deontological code for judge, and the guilty ones would be severely punished.

The president issued for reconsideration to the Superior Magistrates Council the file on Dan Dubcoveţchi, proposed to the position of judge at the Slobozia-based court.

Timofti asked to check the previous work of the magistrate in his capacity as prosecutor and judge. He relied on information provided by the special state services, according to which, Dan Dubcoveţchi would have committed violations of legislation and deontological code for judge.
