The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had a call today with the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis. The two heads of state discussed the security developments in Moldova and the region, as well as the economic and humanitarian consequences of the war in Ukraine.
President Maia Sandu thanked Romania for the non-refundable financial support of EUR 100 million for our country and for the humanitarian assistance offered for the management of the refugee crisis. In this regard, President Klaus Iohannis announced that the direct financial support worth EUR 10 million, announced by Romania during the International Conference launching the Moldova Support Platform, held in Berlin on April 5, 2022 and co-chaired by Romania, Germany and France, will be operationalized in the near future.
