The Head of State spoke with the co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, met today with the co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, who are on a fact-finding visit to Chisinau. The discussion focused on the current situation in our country, in particular developments related to justice reform, the fight against corruption, the functioning of the media and democratic institutions, as well as the impact of Russian aggression in Ukraine on the Republic of Moldova.

The head of state spoke about the actions taken by the authorities to respond to the economic, humanitarian and security challenges caused by the war, to ensure stability in the country and to continue the changes started in the key sectors. President Maia Sandu mentioned that justice reform and the fight against corruption remain a priority, being the foundation for strong and independent institutions that will improve people's lives and bring the country closer to EU standards.
