The Head of State held talks with Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darkyshvili

President Maia Sandu met today with Ilia Darkyshvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, who is on a working visit to Chisinau. The discussion focused on the bilateral agenda, cooperation in the context of European integration and the security situation in the region.

The Head of State noted that the war in the neighbouring country was seriously affecting our energy and economic security, and stressed the need for unity and solidarity between states in order to respond to the current challenges. In this context, the officials expressed their determination to continue helping Ukraine in its fight for freedom and to support the refugees. Similarly, President Maia Sandu called for Moldovan-Georgian cooperation in the fight against disinformation, which is a major threat to any democratic country.
