President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu discussed by phone the bilateral cooperation and the security situation in the region with the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The Head of State expressed her appreciation for Germany's continued support to our country, reiterated also in the recent Bundestag Resolution.
President Maia Sandu appreciated Germany's openness, demonstrated both in the framework of the Moldova Support Platform and during the Head of State's visit to Berlin this autumn. She also thanked Germany for helping us to overcome the challenges we are facing, particularly the energy crisis. Germany has recently granted 40 million euros for the Energy Vulnerability Fund, that would cover both the compensations for Moldova’s citizens and the financing of energy efficiency projects.
