The Head of State spoke on the phone with her French counterpart Emmanuel Macron

Moldovan President Maia Sandu today had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron about the economic and security situation in the country. The President told the French President that Moldovan institutions are resisting challenges launched from outside and carried out by corrupt groups in the country. The President also informed her counterpart about the actions taken by the government in the context of the European integration agenda, including reforms in the justice system and the determination of the authorities to move forward despite the obstacles encountered.

The officials also talked about the preparations for the second meeting of the European Political Community, which will be held on June 1st in our country, stressing that this initiative of President Macron is a necessary platform for discussion for all European states. The leader thanked for the strong partnership with France and the projects carried out through the French Development Agency (AFD), including those that help us increase energy efficiency. President Macron assured us that France stands by us to overcome the difficulties we face and in our efforts for democratic development.
