President Maia Sandu met today with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, with whom she discussed the special relations between Chisinau and Bucharest. The President said that Romania has always been a reliable partner of our country, ready to offer support to our citizens in difficult times.
"I expressed my appreciation for the multiple projects financed by Romania in important areas, which improved the living conditions of our citizens. I also appreciated the bilateral dialogue, which has become more open and dynamic, and thanked for the prompt measures taken by Romania to help us with the supply of electricity, natural gas, fuel oil and firewood, aimed to help us cope with the energy crisis," the Head of State said.
President Maia Sandu also stressed that Romania is an important advocate on our European path and that this support was particularly visible when we obtained the status of candidate country for integration into the European Union.
