The situation in the region and the bilateral agenda discussed by President Maia Sandu with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain

President Maia Sandu met today with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, José Manuel Albares Bueno, who is on a working visit to Chisinau. The discussion focused on the security situation in the region following the war in Ukraine, its impact on Moldova and the bilateral agenda.

The Spanish Foreign Minister underlined that his country supports Moldova's European course. President Maia Sandu said that in these difficult times, the authorities' aim was to ensure stability in the country and the security of its citizens. The Head of State also stressed that the Republic of Moldova was counting on international support to achieve its development objectives. President Maia Sandu also thanked Spain for the humanitarian aid provided for Ukrainian refugees, which is due to arrive in Chisinau this week.
