During her visit to Berlin, President Maia Sandu held talks with representatives of the German business community.
The Head of State was a guest at "RTL Dialog Unter Drei", an informal discussion platform hosted by the German broadcasting company RTL, which brought together leaders of Germany's largest industrial corporations - including Rewe Group, Audi, BASF, Otto Group, Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Telekom and others - to discuss opportunities for foreign investors in Moldova. President Maia Sandu spoke about the challenges Moldova is facing in the context of Russia's war in Ukraine, the reform agenda and the prospects for our country's European integration.
At the end of her visit to the German capital, President Maia Sandu had a meeting with representatives of the business association Ost-Ausschuss. The Head of State spoke to leaders of German industries - including Knauf, METRO AG, BP Europe, the agricultural concern Deutsche Saatgut - about the reforms launched in Moldova and that aim to support the business environment.
The interlocutors also referred to the investment opportunities offered by our country, especially in the context of obtaining the status of candidate country for accession to the European Union. President Maia Sandu mentioned that we are interested in attracting German investments in various sectors, such as agriculture or processing, investments that will create new jobs for our citizens. Currently, more than 400 companies with German capital are already operating in Moldova.
