President Maia Sandu at the meeting with President Klaus Iohannis: "We have a full agenda, reflecting a friendly relationship of strategic partnership"

President Maia Sandu met today with President Klaus Iohannis, who is on a working visit to Chisinau. Discussions focused on the security situation in the region and the issue of refugees fleeing the war in the neighbouring country. The Head of State thanked President Iohannis for the aid Romania has provided for people from Ukraine who have arrived in Moldova, and for Bucharest's willingness to provide a green corridor for their transit to the European Union.

The two Heads of State also discussed the projects agreed at the joint meeting of the governments in February, as well as other topics on the bilateral agenda. President Maia Sandu referred to the fact that the citizens of the Republic of Moldova can already use roaming services at lower costs when travelling to Romania and that local infrastructure projects, as well the construction of the Ungheni bridge will be launched soon. "We also need to move forward in the process of interconnecting our countries' electricity grids. We have a full agenda, reflecting a friendly relationship of strategic partnership between our countries," said President Maia Sandu.
