Moldovan president gives Moldovan citizenship to former Romanian president, his wife

President Nicolae Timofti today signed decrees, according to which Basescu Traian and Basescu Maria were given the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova.  

The citizenship was awarded under the Article 24, paragraph 2 of the Citizenship Law.

The decrees are to be published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial), and afterwards Basescu Maria and Basescu Traian will take the oath.
