Presidency of the Republic of Moldova
President Nicolae Timofti today started his official visit to Turkey with a trip to the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state laid a wreath of flowers at the monument situated in the Turkish capital Ankara on the Anittepe hill and wrote in the book of honour of the museum dedicated to the first president of Turkey.
Upon his arrival in Ankara on 17 December evening, President Nicolae Timofti visited the embassy of Moldova, where he met Ambassador Igor Bolboceanu and the members of the diplomatic mission. The head of state also awarded the Order of Honour to Turkish MP Ismail Safi.
